HEALTH & WELLNESS COACHING
You set the goals. I help you get there.
Coaching is virtual, so it works whether you are in Northeast Ohio or Oregon.
WHAT COACHING ACTUALLY IS
Most people have never hired a coach and have no idea what they would be buying. Fair enough. Here is what it is.
Coaching is not personal training, and it is not therapy. You do most of the work. The biggest surprise for first-timers is that I am not here to give you all the answers.
What I do is ask questions that help you see your life from a different angle, turn what you find into goals you will actually keep, and stay with you while you work on them.
WHAT WE WORK ON
Sleep. Stress. Movement. Eating. Energy. Drinking less. Quitting smoking. Getting organized.
Or the version people actually say out loud. I can’t sleep. I’m exhausted, and I don’t know why. My doctor told me to lift heavy, and I don’t know where to start. I know what I should be doing; I just can’t make it stick.
You don’t need to be in crisis, and you don’t need symptoms. Some people come to me with a long list. Some people come to me because they finally have the time. Both are good reasons.
HOW IT WORKS
Everyone starts with a free 15-minute consultation. It helps us both see whether this is a fit, and it means your first real session starts somewhere useful, not at the beginning.
The first session is an hour. We build your wellness vision and figure out where you actually are.
After that, we meet for 30 or 45 minutes, usually weekly. We look at how it went, and you decide what comes next.
WHAT I DON’T DO
We can talk about supplements, and I’ll tell you what I know. But I’m never going to tell you that because I put a certain brand of creatine in my coffee every morning, you should too.
A lot of my clients are already working with a doctor, a dietitian, or a therapist, and what they want is help actually doing the thing they were told to do. That I can help with. I don’t practice medicine, dietetics, or psychology, and I won't hand you a diagnosis, a treatment plan, a meal plan, or a workout.
WHY COACHING AND MASSAGE STAY SEPARATE
Coaching and massage are two separate practices, and I keep them that way on purpose.
This boundary protects the work.
YOUR WELLNESS VISION AND GOALS THAT STICK
These are the two things we build together when we start. Both are free, and printable if you want to bring notes to a first session.

QUESTIONS I GET ASKED
What does a health and wellness coach actually do? I ask questions that help you look at your own life from a different angle, turn what you find into goals you'll actually keep, and stay with you while you work on them. I'm not here to hand you answers. You do most of the work, and that's what makes it stick.
What is the difference between a health coach and a personal trainer? A trainer helps you with the exercise itself. What to do, how to do it, how to get stronger without hurting yourself. What I do sits alongside that. We start with what you want your life to look like, and then work on how you get there. If you decide working with a personal trainer makes sense, I may provide information and expertise about working with a trainer, and I may help you set goals related to your work with the trainer, depending on what you want. I am a certified personal trainer myself, and I still do not write workout plans.
Do I need a doctor’s referral? No. Coaching isn't medical care, and nobody has to send you. Many of my clients are already working with a doctor, a dietitian, or a therapist, and what they want is help actually doing what they were told to do.
Does insurance cover this? That depends on your plan. I don’t bill insurance, so you pay me directly.
What happens in the first session? It's an hour. We go through your health history, what has worked for you and what hasn't, and whatever you're dealing with right now. We build your wellness vision together and set goals if you're ready.
What is a wellness vision? A short, present-tense statement about what you are committed to doing and how you are feeling by the end of a significant period of time, usually ninety days. It’s a statement about what you want, not what you don’t want. A sentence or two, present tense, starting with I am. We write yours in the first session if you’re ready to. The wellness vision often sets the direction for our work together and we refer back to it if you hit a roadblock in your journey. The wellness vision usually guides the long- and short-term health and wellness goals you’ll set during our work together.
Do you work with clients outside Ohio? Yes. Coaching is over video, so where you live doesn't matter. Massage is in person and stays in Northeast Ohio.
Do you sell supplements or meal plans? No. I don't sell any products. We can talk about supplements, and I'll tell you what I know when it’s appropriate and welcome by you, but I'm never going to tell you that because I put a certain brand of creatine in my coffee every morning or take a particular vitamin, you should too. I'm not a dietitian, so I don't write meal plans either.
