WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS

Ten or fifteen minutes out of a busy week. Long enough to release the tension people carry in their neck and shoulders and arms and hands, and to take the edge off the stress and the tiredness.

Everyone stays fully clothed. Comfortable clothes work best, and long hair up, so I can reach the neck and shoulders. I adjust the chair for each person.

I need a quiet spot with no clutter and enough room for me to move around the chair. A private office or a spare room usually does it. Tell me what you have, and we will work it out.

Before I arrive, have everybody sign up for a time slot. That part matters more than it sounds. When somebody knows her massage is at 2:15, she spends the morning looking forward to it, and she arrives already halfway relaxed.

If somebody can’t be comfortably positioned in a massage chair, I bring a desktop one instead. It sets up on a table, or I bring it right to a desk. That works for anyone with mobility issues or using a mobility aid. Even if someone can’t be positioned in a chair or my desktop massage chair, I can still provide beneficial massage therapy.

QUESTIONS I GET ASKED

  • What options are available for individual massage? At this time, individual sessions are available on a limited, referral basis only. Leave your contact information in the form on this page if you are interested in learning more about working with me.

  • What is chair massage, and what actually happens? Chair massage is a short massage you get sitting up and fully clothed, in a chair I bring with me. No table, nothing to change into. Each person gets ten or fifteen minutes. That's long enough to release the tension people carry in their neck and shoulders and take the edge off the stress and tiredness. Comfortable clothes work best, and long hair up so I can reach your neck and shoulders. I adjust the chair for each person. Before I arrive, everybody signs up for a time slot.

  • How much space do you need, and how many people can you see in an hour? I need a quiet spot with no clutter and enough room for me to move around the chair. A private office or a spare room usually does it. Tell me what you have, and we'll work it out.

  • What if somebody can’t use a massage chair? I bring a desktop chair as well. It sets up on a table, or I can bring it right to somebody's desk. It works for anyone with mobility issues or who uses a mobility aid, so nobody gets left out because the standard chair doesn't suit them. Even if someone can’t be positioned in a chair or my desktop massage table, I can still provide beneficial massage therapy.

  • How far will you travel? Twenty miles from Cleveland Heights is included in my hourly rate for chair massage. Beyond that, we'll agree on a travel fee at the time of booking. I stay within Ohio

  • Can massage be tax-exempt in Ohio? Ohio sales tax law requires collecting sales tax on a massage. However, there is no duty to collect sales tax on a massage performed on the order of a licensed physician, certified nurse-midwife, clinical nurse specialist, certified nurse practitioner, or chiropractor. R.C. 5739.01(B)(3)(o). Clients who provide a prescription from one of the above-mentioned health care providers will not be charged applicable sales tax.
